A great first album, 2010-03-07 This has to be one of the best albums that I have heard in a while. There's not one song on this album that I dislike and my favourites have to be private, don't go and one shot which are a bit more upbeat then the more slower songs that I love are tightrope and only tonight. JLS seem to be going from strength to strength and if they can continue to produce music like this, I can't wait for their next album.

Journey
Amazing!!!!!!!!, 2010-01-04 I think that this must be the most amazing greatest hits collection I have ever come across!
' Don't stop believing ' had been one of my most favourite tracks forever but I'd never encountered anything else by Journey that was until I stumbled upon this. There are no dud songs just total entertainment throughout. I first played it driving cross country and for once did't care less about traffic jams- I just wanted to hear the next track!! A must buy for anyone out there. One play and you'll be asking Bon Jovi who?!!!

Muse
It's not really about the music anymore, is it. It's about the breadth and height of everything Muse do. It's about leaving a jet-stream in the sky. Any tune with a trajectory lower than the cosmos is presumably discarded, with arrangements generally sounding as expensive as battleships (intergalactic battleships, that is). Of course the music is not exactly incidental either; Muse's full-on fifth album The Resistance is packed hard with virtuoso musicianship, rigorous instrumental freak-outs and harmonies beamed between dimensions. It's simply what they do now, no matter how ridiculous it may seem. Long gone are the days of the feisty yet formal English post-grunge band ...
Its a grower, but BOY does it grow!, 2010-03-12 Im a massive Muse fan. Huge in fact. I try and see them everytime they tour. You would think this would be quite boring to see teh same band over and over again but i demand to meet the person who thinks New Born live is boring and old hat. From Showbiz to The Resistance, every album (if we do out of 10) easily scores between 9 and 10, and in the case of Origin Of Symmetry 11. I have so much respect for the music Muse make, i bought the CD and not the download just so i can have the CD case pride of place in my CD collection. I have now decided only to reserve CD purchases for the truly great albums and not just the general release rubbish with 1 or 2 decent songs on the album.
Horror!!!!!!Disgust!!!!!!!!Disbelief!!!!!! This cant be!!!I have listened to the whole album and i cant stand it! Its awful. I feel let down. This is Queen 2010!
You cant blame me for saying these things as the first listen was horrendous on my ears and i was some what swayed but other reviews from NME and amazon. I put the CD in a draw for a week. How did Muse get it so wrong? In fact i got it wrong. I got it horrendously wrong and after saying these terrible things about Muse, I wondered would it ever forgive me? I was driving to work one morning and United States Of Eurasia came on the ipod at Random. That was back in January and so far i have listened to the album a good 100 times.
It is a total vear of route for Muse, synths, pop sounding at times, it is a bit queen influenced (especially United States of Eurasia) and i can personally hear the eurythmics at times. All these combined makes for a worth while experience. The symphony (exogenesis) is basic in its composistion and very familiar sounding, but i love the way it swoops during the strings. The only song i had a major issue with was Guiding Light. The first lyric kept making me cringe and i just couldnt enjoy the song, which has never happened. it reminded me of Invincible from Black Holes and Revelations which only just survived due to its finale.
This is a very good record, it has some amazing guitar rifts and ludicrous pomposity. The Resistance and MK Ultra are my personal favourites, along with Undisclosed Desire A grower most certainly and possibly the most difficult Muse album to fully appreciate. But you will appreciate it, it simply takes a bit more of a listen. The best time to listen to it is when walking or driving. Totally captivating

Black Eyed Peas
As Excellent to be Expected, 2010-03-03 Really enjoyed this CD and was glad I purchased it. The whole CD from start to end tells a story and each track is mixed well into each other so that it's more like a concert. The music is just as I would expect from the Black Eyed Peas: professional, well-mixed, and with a good variety across the album. Track 6 'Alive' and Track 2 'Rock That Body' although very different songs are probably my favourite! If you love Black Eyed Peas's song 'I Gotta Feeling' which is why I bought the CD - then you will love this and not be disappointed :)

Kasabian
Kasabian arrived with a bang and a half early this century, brandishing a slew of ever more dynamite singles and a rigorously assembled debut album that straddled dancefloors and festival fields with monumental ease and a glint in its bloodshot eyes. It was all very post-Xtrmntr, whilst avoiding much of the seriousness that could have entailed. Whether anyone expected them to chase Oasis’ coat-tails with such keenness is by the by now; they have since been ordained as an anthemic rock colossus of the UK rock scene. That has almost certainly gone to their heads and as years and albums pass they move further away from their original chemical reaction and into att...
A welcome return to form!, 2010-01-29 The first Kasabian album was a classic (one of the best albums of the last decade), but the (difficult) 2nd one "Empire" was a disappointment. This album is a return to the good times and is superb. "Where did all the love go" has got to be one of the best and most catchy songs in recent years. This collection of genius is highly recommended for fans and new-comers alike.

Marina & The Diamonds
Pop, like it should be, 2010-03-13 Not much to add to the many other positive reviews of this album. She's going to have a tough time topping this. The tracks Hollywood, I Am A Robot and Mowgli's Road are instantly infectious, and it only took a second spin of the CD for me to be completely hooked by the others, which vary from upbeat to morose. Her voice is so strong for such a petite person, and she has an amazing vocal range. Pleasurably unusual lyrics for pop songs too; pop for thinking people, perhaps? Fabulous. In these days of mind-numbing pop objectifying women, her lyrics are a breath of fresh air for pop music. I just hope fame doesn't ruin her. This one's a keeper.

John Barrowman
Barrowman at his best!, 2010-03-12 I bought this CD with some reservations. I have John's previous albums and love them, but I was a little dissappointed to find that this was yet another album of just covers. I had hoped that it would include at least some original tracks.
It turns out that I should not of worried. This is a really beautiful collection of tracks, some of which were new to me - 'So Close' is just lovely and 'Unusual Way' is a song that I had never heard before, but I can't get it out of my head. They suit John's voice so well!!
Overall, a wonderful CD!! And if you are a fan of John's previous albums, then buy this, it will exceed your expectations.

mums prezzie, 2010-03-12 As an older citizen, my mum doesn't like a lot of whats on the telly,so she listens a lot to music cd's or the radio. This one has been on nearly constantly since we bought it for her, and hope that it stands up to a lot of use. Will have to get an alternative as the rest of the family are getting a little fed up with this cd.

Andrew Lloyd Webber
Worthy successor to the original, 2010-03-10 There is a great deal to enjoy in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical. It contains some superb music - well worthy of the original 'Phantom' and a suitably gothic plot line on which it hangs. Lloyd Webber has taken a risk in only including tiny fragments of melody from the original show - but this pays off with a wealth of new material. If I were to choose the best song I would go for 'Beneath a Moonless Sky' but there are several possible contenders. Those reviewers who complain that the music is all 'recycled' fail to understand the compositional process and the fact that composers have their own musical 'trademarks'. Lloyd Webber has his own tricks of harmony, melody, orchestration etc which seem familiar because he uses them frequently in his music. Lloyd Webber uses the leitmotif technique where subtle variation and development is key. Listen to the way he transforms the very simple melody of 'Only for Him' for the Act 2 Entr'acte, for example. The show is not perfect of course - the opening is too fragmented for my liking, but repeated listening may change my view. Overall, this is probably Lloyd Webber's best work for over twenty years. After listening to the show, I now want to go and see it!
