Another great 2CD Classic FM compilation of classical hits from a wide range of singers, including the established favourites such as Blake, Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra, Aled Jones, Lesley Garrett, All Angels, Bryn Terfel, Elin Manahan-Thomas and Alfie Boe.
Also included are some of the more recently discovered talents such as Camilla Kerslake and Faryl Smith, along with the legendary names like Pavarotti and Domingo, and to complete the all star line up there are a few truly world class opera singers, Cecilia Bartoli, Renee Fleming and Rolando Villazon.
The song choices are nicely varied and will be recognised by most people, not just listeners of Classic FM radio, and while I'm not quite sure how the link is made between this selection and mothers, I guess the album release date is a giveaway - two weeks before Mothering Sunday 2010!
A great compilation of music by quality artists.

I haven't heard this yet but I saw the first programme last night and I am now going to buy the album. I only found out about the programme yesterday from the radio and I'm so glad I did, I am hooked! Keep up the good work Dinnington.
I would just like to point out that the description of Dinnington Colliery Band is incorrect - they are from SOUTH YORKSHIRE not County Durham.

Barrowman at his best!, 2010-03-12
I bought this CD with some reservations. I have John's previous albums and love them, but I was a little dissappointed to find that this was yet another album of just covers. I had hoped that it would include at least some original tracks.
It turns out that I should not of worried. This is a really beautiful collection of tracks, some of which were new to me - 'So Close' is just lovely and 'Unusual Way' is a song that I had never heard before, but I can't get it out of my head. They suit John's voice so well!!
Overall, a wonderful CD!! And if you are a fan of John's previous albums, then buy this, it will exceed your expectations.

Just received my cd today. Loved every minute of it,lots of cheerful songs to lift the spirits and well balanced with a few weepies. A great compilation, I bought this after watching Jane Horrocks star in 'Our Gracie'. These songs were from an era before I was born but there is something for every generation on the album. It contains the song 'Take me to your heart again'and I think it did.

My mum bought me this CD as I am a big John Barrowman Fan and listening to it for the first time I wasn't that impressed, as I didn't recognise most of the songs. But the more I listened to them the more I fell in love with the songs and the way John Barrowman sing's the songs are absolutly stunning. The duet with Jodie Prenger was amazing she has a stunning voice.
