A Different side of Bob Dylan, 2010-01-20 Don't expect to fall in love with this at first play. This album is unusual. That said I agree with lots of other comments on the web; it really grows on you. Hillbilly, croaky ballad and upbeat are all there. Keep playing it. Some well known and loved songs given the Bob Dylan treatment. I feel that in this cd there are all the formats we have had from The Man since the beginning. I'm not saying he can do no wrong but, I never bought Dylan for the voice anyway so enjoy it for what it is.
The download was perfect, shame the pictures weren't good enough to blow up to correct size for cd case but never mind, I can get them on the net elsewhere.
unique, 2010-01-15 I love the serious interpretation of the songs we love with Bob's unique commitment to them. Some of my family regard it as corny and below him but I will always remember this Christmas with Bob's voice in mind!
Dylan goes Xmas, 2010-02-13 This was an impulse buy for the dedicated dylan fan in the house- thougth I would hate it but strangely appealing - and I am not a Dylan fan. Always makes me smile - slightly hystericaly!
Christmas will never be the same, 2010-07-18 It,s sad to hear such a force in music slide like this if you need the cash that badly Bob i,d be happy to send you a few quid for old time sake.
Best Christmas album of all times, 2010-02-22 This is the best Christmas album ever - or maybe it's an album ABOUT Christmas. Anyway Bob's enthusiasm is so genuine its only parallel would be Elvis grinning hysterically on the famous live version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight", which of course could not be labelled intentional, when speaking of emotion coming through on vinyl/CD. Arrangements straight out of the 1950's incl. wonderful male and female choruses plus steel guitar although sometimes slightly more modern guitar riffs mingle effortlessly. A masterpiece of musicality and good will towards Mankind.
