Probably their most immediatelty accessible record, for non-German speakers anyway.

Also very good for the ipod when on a bike.

I don't speak enough German to actually understand the lyrics, but I don't feel handicapped by that in the slightest. Even if you don't know German from Greek or Goonish, it really doesn't matter; this is pure heavy goodness. Reise Reise the song itself is...hells, it gives me goosebumps every time. Moskau too is a truly epic track, but, as others have said, it really is all good.

Danke schune!

I absolutely love Rammstein and this, for me is Rammstein's best. It is dark in places but then it is wonderfully upbeat and makes you feel, happy. Yes, they've been around for years now, but this album just shows that they can still deliver that magic that they first showed on 'Herzeleid'.

The Album is great. From the seconds in on title track 'reise, reise' you just know you are in for one glorious journey. Some tracks are:

Moskau: (Moscow) A beautiful dancey track, combining grinding guitars with sweet Russian vocals by Viktoria Hersh* and obviously, the whip of Till Lindemann's vocals. A more chanty song with a fantastic melody, this song is one of those upbeat tracks, it just makes you want to...head bang and singalong!

Ohne Dich: (without you) A sad, ambient track with haunting music and an overall softer sound, the quietest on the album. This song is just beautiful, choirs and orchestras are present to create such a melancholy atmosphere. Although its sullen, it doesnt choke you - it conveys raw emotion and power.

Amerika: If you love the comedy behind Rammstein then you will love this song. Grinding guitars battle with powerful drums to the sound of Till singing: ''We're all living in Amerika, Amerika ist wunderbar. We're all living in Amerika...Coca Cola, Wonderbra/Sometimes war.'' Apparently the song isn't anything to do with politics but it is definitely a great tune.

To me, the whole album is a highlight in my record collection and is my most listened to. I would definitely recommend it to the devoted fan or just the casual listener. When you first here it, it sounds like something you have never heard. Its just brilliant.

Please note to, it isn't a concept album but is loosely based on travelling. On the front of the cover is a flight recorder, allegedly the one from the Japan Airline crash (JA123) in the 1980's. In the promotion posters, the band were seen on a sort of wasteland, all in suits with briefcases. They could be imitating the crash as over 500 passengers were on board but only 4 survived.
Also on many recordings of Reise, Reise, the last 30 seconds of the pilots in the cockpit on JA123 can be heard. Just rewind your album from the title track 30 seconds to here. It is really haunting.

Well done Rammstein for creating another wonderful album!!

...but unfortunately I just couldn't take to this album. Admittedly I was fairly new to Rammstein and had only prior listened to Mutter but I really tried! I listened to it over and over and unlike Mutter which I was unsure of at first and then grew to adore, it just didn't happen and now that I have since collected the other albums, remains my least favourite Rammstein offering. Initially I couldn't understand why it was but it just felt like something was missing. It was only when I listened to Sehnsucht (which I instantly fell in love with) that I realised - it was all the electronic synthy stuff (in my technical terms!) so prevailant in Mutter and Sehnsucht that I was missing!!

I will still be keeping and listening to this album as it IS still Rammstein after all but for me it will never be my favourite of their albums.

Bought this album on a whim, after bumping into it on here and seeing all the positive reviews. Very glad I did. It's surprisingly melodic and great to drive to. The only low point (for me) is Amerika which, because it's partly sung in heavily accented English, sounds a bit Eurovision. That apart it's fascinating stuff that bears repeated listening. If you've never bought music like this before don't be put off. I've immediately ordered most of their back catalogue.
