Amazon.co.uk Review Michael Jackson was still going for pop hits with 1991's Dangerous, but he also front-loaded the album with six straight Teddy Riley-assisted cuts. This half-hour swoop of tense, aggressive, often angular funk was Jackson's most interesting music since Thriller, and still sounds, well, invincible on this remastered edition. After that, the record's uneven, but there's nothing embarrassing about it, either. "Gone Too Soon", a non-Jackson composition about teen AIDS casualty Ryan White, is a quiet statement (particularly played next to the choir-laden "Heal the World", "Keep the Faith", and "Will You Be There") showing that the star doesn't always have to get showy. The sprightly "Black or White" is explicitly pro-interracial romance, an angle its video didn't go near, and the urgent "Give In to Me" is almost scary. Scary good, that is. --Rickey Wright

Dangerous, 2010-05-05 There are probably only a handful of Jackson albums that are truly required listening `Off the Wall', `Thriller', `Bad' and `Dangerous' and in my opinion this is one of the best. This has some great songs on it and showed Jackson was still able to create top class music after the huge successes of `Thriller' and `Bad' when people doubted he could do it again. Stand out tracks for me have to be `Who Is It' and `Give In To Me' and this last track has an excellent solo played by Slash that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. There are softer songs here like `Heal the World' and whilst these are well written, I have personally never been a fan of Jackson's ballads, but there is something here for everyone. `Black or White' is probably one of the most well known of the tracks on offer, but as you can quickly see there are so many tracks of note here and overall this is a very polished and worthy album in Jackson's back catalogue. The booklet artwork is great and you get the lyrics and some photos inside. This still sounds great even after repeated listening and considering it is nearly twenty years old that is very impressive. Well worth adding to your Jackson collection at some point.
Basically, 2009-12-02 Basically i love will you be there i love give into me! Those were 2 very good reasons to buy this!
Dangerously good, 2010-08-08 If Michael Jackson wasn't great before this album he was after making this. Like Thriller and Bad it's full of hits and brilliant songs. They all well written and up there with the best albums around, because there's no album fillers. Like all top class album's all songs could be singles, of which most off them are top 10 hits. It is different to his previous albums but is the change of direction his career needed and with that he ended up with another great album.
A change of direction that was needed, 2009-10-27 Although 'Bad' was deservedly a huge success, Michael Jackson and some of his fans were disappointed with the result. It had not sold nearly as well as Thriller for a start and there was certainly nothing like 'Billie Jean' on it. So, for his next album 'Dangerous', Michael opted for a change in direction, replacing legendary producer Quincy Jones with more contemporary Teddy Riley. The result is a far more dynamic and forward-thinking album than 'Bad' was, as some of the tracks - 'Jam' and 'Black or White' for instance, still sound up-to-date today. All of the music on this album is solid and some of it, like 'Jam', is certainly pure funk...except perhaps 'Will You Be There' and 'Heal the World', which are a little self-indulgent and become a bit of a dirge after a few listens.
As it turned out, this album was amazingly just as commercialy successful (worldwide) as 'Bad' was, selling a similar number of copies. It does flow better overall and has a longer running time as well. There is also more solid single material on this album than on 'Bad'. Bear all that in mind and you should purchase 'Dangerous'...as well as being one of the most popular albums of all time, most of its material is simply great music.
Under-rated, 2009-10-21 I think this Michael Jackson album is SO under-rated! It doesn't get the same amount of adulation as Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad and although of those albums I've mentioned are complete GENIUS - I think Dangerous is pretty damn good too! Stand out tracks for me are In The Closet, Remember The Time, Who Is It, Will You Be There and Gone Too Soon.
