The virtuoso Czechoslovakian bassist Georg Mraz's latest release Morava comes complete with sleeve-note encomia from two luminaries of the Czech art world, film director Milos Forman and writer Josef Skvorecky. Their praise is fully justified, for Morava is a particularly beautiful album. It has fine performances by Mraz (who at times exhibits a pizzicato fluency reminiscent of Danish maestro NHOP), Czech pianist Emil Viklicky and American drummer Billy Hart.
